Can I purchase a membership for a friend or loved one?

- Yes! Visit our Membership Options tab, select the membership option you are interested in. You will then be prompted to our Inmate PenPal Profile Questionnaire where you will be able to upload any pictures or video (s) and bio you would like us to post with the profile. You will then be directed to choose your payment option. Once payment is made, you will receive a payment confirmation email.

What if I want to pay for my friend or loved one and they will be sending you the Profile Information?

You can visit our “ Membership Options” tab, select the membership option you are interested in. You will then be prompted to our PenPal Profile Questionnaire where you select the Option - Inmate will send directly . You will then be directed to choose your payment option. Once payment is made, you will receive a payment confirmation email.

WHat information is needed to set up a profile?
  • - Multiple creative pictures-4 is preferable and suggested
  • - Video(s) if possible
  • - Interesting, Humorous and Inviting Bio
    1-2 paragraphs max
  • - Sexual Orientation
  • - Hometown
  • - Race
  • - Birthdate
  • - Interests
  • - Contact Information: Messaging Platform, Address, Phone Number (if any)
  • - How did you find out about us and or who were you referred to by?
  • - If you have opted into our Marketplace feature please provide up to 10 photos of your art creations

-How soon is an inmate posted once payment is received?

Once payment and all profile information is completed your friend or loved one will be live on our Website and Social Media platforms within 3- 5 business days.

-How do I cancel a profile and do I get a refund?

All cancellations must be provided by your friend or loved one directly. We do not provide any refunds.

-How can my friend or loved one get in touch with Prison PenPal Connect if they have any questions?

They can contact us directly through their messaging platform ie. JPAY, Corralinks etc. Once they become a member, our response team will reach out to them directly via their messaging platform with a welcome introduction.

-How do I make changes to a profile and or pictures?

We allow 1 change with the 4 month membership and 3 changes with the yearly membership. Changes should be emailed directly to PrisonPenPalConnect@gmail.com

-Do you list the crimes and or release dates of the Penpals?

We do not list the criminal offense or sentencing unless it is specifically requested when the listing is posted. As a potential pen pal, the responsibility rests with you to discover this information if so desired. There are services and resources available online where you can research this information.

-How can I write to a PenPal?

Using the member’s institutional email service. This varies from State to State. Every member has a link on their Profile Page directing you to their specific email provider so you can set up an account to send them an email.

Writing A Snail Mail Letter Can Take A Long Time Depending On Where You Live And The Mailing System At The Prison. Using Their Institutional Email Is The Most Efficient Way, But The Rules Pertaining To Those Services Vary From State To State.

There Is A Variety Of Different Institutional Email Companies But The Most Common For State Prisons Are Jpay And Connectnetwork/GTL
